You know you're the mother of carsick kids when...

You're pretty sure you could strip a carseat to the frame blindfolded and with one arm tied behind your back.

Wash it, and then reassemble it correctly.

Lord, I hate stripping the carseat and reassembling it. Doesn't anyone make plastic carseat covers? Possibly someone in New Jersey, where anything upholstered seems to be encased in plastic?

Mom, can you send me the sick bowl? Oh wait, you probably still make meatballs in that bowl, right?! I can't make meatballs without thinking of the sick bowl and how when retching, the faint scent of ground beef would waft from the bowl.

We've got the sick towel, but we need a better system.

Are the darlings getting car sick all of the time, or at least more often than not? Would a little dramimine (sp) help?

Thankfully you are a VERY GOOD MOTHER and keep everything so tidy and clean! Please kiss the angels for me. Hang in there. I don't think Peder gets carsick any longer.

Rachel.....
Maybe I could come over and be your driver? Maybe the kiddos were just indoctrinated by you to not throw up in the pickup. Some soldiers can field strip an m-60 and re-assemble it blindfolded, but with you it's car seats. Take care, love you all.

Do you guys each want to have four months custody of the puke bowl when we're gone? Speak now...

Seriously, when I start thinking of the hamburger smell wafting from the barf bowl with its handle, I start feeling nauseous. Get me some Sprite and soda crackers, stat! No, I don't want the barf bowl. We'll have to start using our own barf bowl, start our own traditions.

Oh Ronch. I forgot all about the sick bowl and now that you have mentioned it, I feel just a little vomitous.

Wow can I relate! My daughter is finally in a booster which is so much easier to strip and wash than a car seat, but I sure do remember those days!

I did find a website with some products that really help my 5 yr old to get through trips much more easily (and keep us from having to listen to the endless whining). It's carsickkids.com...the band works really well for her as do the pops, and I love the sickness bag they have with the disposable liner. So much better than keeping our fingers crossed that the grocery bag we packed doesn't have any holes in it!

Putting her in the center seat and playing games that keep her looking for things outside make a difference.

Good luck, being the mom of a carsick child is no fun!
