To clear up any confusion...

We bought another car today. I know...you're all a little confused because there was some discussion of coming to the US to pick up the Routan, etc. and it seemed like we were waffling.

Some of us were waffling. Others of us were secretly rejoicing that they won't have to ruin their "cool" image by driving a minivan.

We talked our salesperson down to a reasonable amount and we're now the proud owners of a 2009 Audi Q7. Visit http://www.audiusa.com/* if you would like a look. I requested a red one.

I shouldn't say we're NOW the owners, because believe it or not, we won't be able to get it until Christmas time, even though they are made in Hungary.

Think we'll tie a big red ribbon around it and call it a day. It can be like those Lexus ads, only better, because it's an Audi. Haha.

* Caution: Visiting the Audi website may induce chills, shakes, sweats and heart palpitations. If you are in weak health, you should avoid building your own R8 and stick to "tamer" models, such as the A4. Do not be alarmed if you cannot feel your extremeties after viewing any R8 videos. This is a common occurence and can be remedied by visiting the Toyota website and viewing a Prius.

Wow, that is a beautiful vehicle! Any names picked out? How about Murphy?

Um, Murphy for a German vehicle?

I think it's definitely female, but we'll have to see. Charlotte? Trautchen? Madchen? Baerbel?

Ask Hans re: Murphy...

I'm disappointed you won't be coming home to pick up a VW van! :-(

I was looking forward to seeing you!

Congratuations, anyway. I'm sure it will be a very nice, comfortable vehicle.

Uhhh, Hans has no idea what you're talking about.

It's Q7, not O7.

Murphy is not a name we connect with happiness in this house.

Try Audy before Murphy if you are still confused. I think that this naming business shows you how convoluted your Mother's thinking is. Luckily Hans is not a Bugatti fan, as I saw the you-tube video of an R8 versus a Veyron. Scary fast.

Not convoluted thinking (though I know she does it), it just shows how OLD she is. Folks of our generation don't really know who Audie Murphy is.

But still...Murphy is too Irish for a German car. Try again, Jan.

Seriously. Why would you name a vehicle again?
I can't wait to get my Prius someday! I'm going to make you ride in it all of the time.

*ahem*

SOME people of our generation know very well who Audie Murphy is, thank you! :P

Of course, I think you should go with Schnellgepanzertenauto Funklagen, but that's me.

And I ALMOST wrote that people in our generation "EXCEPT ANDREW" don't know who Audie Murphy is...

Too funny!! I knew that you would know, Andrew.

Andrew, that's a bit of a mouthful to teach the kids.

I kind of like Schnell for short. It's fitting.

I'll have to wear a wig and dark glasses if I ride in your Prius.

Nerd.

This may be a late entry, but your Mom has a pair or two of dark glasses that she would loan to you, I'll bet.
