Breaking the pattern...

Please don't expect much from me for the next couple of weeks. We've got company.

Oh, and my husband is back from his travels. I'll refrain from making any smart comments about how it's like having another child around the house, however, in terms of laundry and cooking (not behavior) yes, it kinda is.

We have been having fun with Donna. Hans and I had a date, a date, a realllll date the other night. We had Chinese food...Hans remarked that he found it interesting to order Chinese food in German. It was perfect, exactly what I've been craving, and fairly inexpensive--must be a universal Chinese-food trait--cheapness.

Afterwards, we went to an English-language theater and saw Ironman. I have to admit, it was pretty dang good. You all know how many of these superhero/comic book movies I get dragged to. Some are awful. Some are pretty good. Some are really good. Ironman falls into the really good category. Robert Downey, Jr. looks fantastic and is a perfect fit as the playboy Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow looks reasonably cute, though I sometimes wish she'd see an eye-nose-throat specialist. Girlfriend always sounds adenoidal to me.

Lots of action, great special-effects, a good story line and tons of Audi product placement...who could ask for more?

We just returned from an overnight in Garmisch. Tomorrow is Josiah's birthday party. We're having a little bit of company and a "Cars" cake. I will try (and I stress the word try) to get pictures posted soon.

It's going to be a busy week!

Rachel.....
It is good to hear from you again, but I figured that you have been busier than average lately. We are getting pretty antsy here too, to get on the plane and head your way. See you soonest.

Joe's four! Dad and I were just talking about jumping in the pickup and heading for San Diego to see Joe. It seems like an amazingly LOT of stuff has happened with this family in these last few years! Anyway, we'll celebrate with Joe in a couple days. I don't suppose he minds having multiple parties!

NO! No more Iron Man posts, confound it! This is taking things too far! All I've heard is how wonderful this movie is since it came out, and I haven't been able to see it yet! Me! Mr. Geek-Nerd Boy himself!

You and Peder...I swear!

Oh, and a dies natalem laeti et felicissime to Josiah, as well.

Happy Birthday, Joe!! I wish I could be there to celebrate with you. Your coming signalled the dawn of a new age--grandbabies, nephews, and neices for the Kuehl family. You were the trailblazer!
