Trier

Interior of Trier Cathedral--not what you'd expect from the exterior view!

Exterior of the Trier Cathedral (see what I mean?)

Beautiful flowering tree near the Porta Nigra

View of Trier's main thoroughfare from the top of the Porta Nigra

Apparently, Roman ruins are not very fascinating to (almost) 6-month-olds!

Inside the Porta Nigra

Hans, pointing out the stonecutter's mark--so helpful to have such a smart husband!

Inside the Porta Nigra

The Porta Nigra (Black Gate) built of sandstone blocks, it is the best preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps (from Trier's city guide).

The elusive Hans, caught on film.

Fabulous pictures, Rachel. Showing the darlings inside the cathedral shows us the immense size of the structure. As always, my grandchild are adorable!

Wow, that looks amazing! I need to get out the map to see where you actually were. I can't believe Will didn't stay awake for that.

Those cathedrals are beautiful. I can see why they took years and years to build. Enjoyed the pix, as always.

I can't imagine being able to take in all of the things that you guys have seen on a 2 week tour of Europe. Think of it as the silverlining of your long time there. As is usual, the pictures are the best. You have a good eye for photography.
