Randomness

Just a couple of things:

  1. Yes, I am still pregnant. We're under the two week mark here and to say that each day is making us a little more anxious to meet this child face-to-face is an understatement. I have an OB appointment again on Tuesday and may get more information then. Until that time, your guess is as good as mine. And really, I'm pretty much OK with that.
  2. I packed up the first box of wrapped Christmas gifts and hopefully will get them sent to you soon, Mom and Dad, to distribute to the cousins. Which leads me to:
  3. Did you know that whenever you order from Gymboree online, you can request a free gift box be sent with your order? No, neither did I...just discovered this and so on my last order, I had them send three free boxes. I'm so glad that I did because the good folks at Gymboree not only send you adorable, polka-dotted boxes, they send you grograin ribbon, stickers AND giftcards. So:
  4. Many of your Christmas gifts may look a little un-Christmasy because they'll be coming in Gymboree boxes. I suck at gift wrapping. Genevieve and Dad got all the gift wrapping talent in our family (possibly Mom might be good at it, but to my knowledge, has always had Dad wrap). Still cute and the kids will love them, but they don't scream CHRISTMAS!! Sorry.
  5. Hmmmm...what else? School is still going well for Josiah. Just one "yellow card" this week and we're still not clear exactly what happened, except that Josiah kicked someone. He wasn't exactly forthcoming in the reason for kicking except to say that the other child was "laughing at him". His teacher said that it was for no reason while Josiah was being the door holder. So...a little discrepancy there between stories. This is the third yellow card he's gotten since school started...all three were for offenses that he never committed in preschool. I'm hoping that there's still adjustment taking place. Hans and I have had serious talks with him after each offense and take time to remind him every day before school. Hopefully, hopefully we are getting through.
  6. Annika and I finished up straight-line letters and are venturing into the exciting territory of curved-line letters.
  7. Hans has had two nibbles on his car...one guy e-mailed and offered to trade us a 1993 Mazda RX-7 with a Corvette engine, and some cash. That one was pretty easy to turn down. Why sure, we'd love to trade this beautiful 5-year-old car for your 16-year-old modified car (insert eye roll here). Of course, he didn't say how much cash he was willing to offer. Maybe if it had been asking price...? The other guy actually test drove it, but offered us quite a lot less than Hans was willing to take. This guy knew his cars and was highly impressed by it, but we haven't heard back from him. C'mon people, this is a fine, Autobahn-chewing German vehicle!
  8. Hans is worrying about approximately 17 things right now, from having babies to orders, buying a house, scheduling moves and training his relief. I am worried about one thing: having a baby. This is a refreshing place to be in...usually it's the other way around, with me obsessing about everything and him telling me that everything will work out fine. I have no idea why I'm in such a Zen place about this move, but I am...it's weird.

That's it. Hope everyone has had a great weekend and enjoyed the fall weather. More news from Will Watch 2009 as it happens. If only I lived in the US, I could Twitter on my way to the hospital...

So good to hear from you, Rachel. I've been wondering how things were going. I hope your wait will not be long. I'm sure all of you are anxious to see and hold Will - I know I am!

I didn't know Hans was trying to sell his car, but I guess it makes sense. It would be a good buy for anyone with low mileage and the cleanest trunk ever!

I wish a good week ahead for all of you. Please hug Josiah and Annika for me.

I'm glad to hear you are not obsessing about the upcoming move (date and place still unknown). Having a baby is enough to be concerned with. Modesto is having a great fall day also. I like highs only in the 70s or 80s. Hope all goes well with Will.

I can't imagine how excited you guys are because I am extremely excited myself! Every time the phone rings, I wonder if it's Hans!
You know how I got you that Coach purse as a forever birthday gift. Well, about the Audi... :)
Just a thought...

Does Hans want to get a newer Audi?

I guess I have to rescind my request for the Audi. I don't drive a straight stick Dad reminded me. Darn!

I have to admit that when your Mum gets tired of waiting for me to wrap gifts she does some herself. I think that we were taught in country school an eon ago. Will is probably about as ready as you are to get into this world and we are all waiting to greet him. Take care and keep your bags packed.

I wasn't sure what you were referring to there Mom...I thought you meant that I should Hans should get the new Audi and keep it forever as a birthday gift!

Yes, and I think you'd have trouble driving it...it's got a very, very sensitive clutch.

Lindsey, Hans does want a new one. We'll have to see what happens. Like I said, we can get a lot more selling it ourselves over here and we get a good military deal over here too. We had one more nibble this morning, so who knows? Hopefully we'll get it done, if not, he's still happy with the black one and we'll take it home.
