Again With the Randomness

Because my mind is such a pile of mush lately, I can't come up with any one coherent subject:

  • Josiah got all "greens" at school this week, so I made sure to dance around and exhibit great signs of joy to encourage another week of greens. I suppose that the large Rice Krispie bar that he got at the shopette for having a great week probably helped reinforce the positive idea, sans the embarassment of having his enormously pregnant and silly mother warbling over him...
  • The schools are out for teacher in-service tomorrow, so we have a four-day weekend ahead of us. I am depressed that we can't really go anywhere and have to stay close to home. I'm trying to think of some fun things to do that are close and have readily available bathrooms. Our life of jumping in the car and taking off at any time has been curtailed by the advent of our kindergartner...not so easy to travel as we had been doing. So the four-day weekend that we will spend sitting here on Will Watch 2009 is killing me.
  • Two days ago, after my depressing OB visit, I picked Josiah up from school and the two of us went to the PX to do some general shopping. We were somewhere in the hardware section when Josiah suddenly stopped, put his hand on his heart and recited the entire Pledge of Allegiance...to what, I don't know as I didn't see any flags around. I'm a little surprised that they are still reciting the Pledge at school...I didn't think anyone was allowed to utter the word "God" at a public school anymore!
  • Annika loves ELO. No, not Elmo. Electric Light Orchestra. Next time you see her, ask her to sing "Livin' Thing". She will gladly oblige. She is also developing a frightening taste for 80s music, like A-Ha. I blame Hans and his iPod.
  • Nothing new to report on Will Watch 2009. At the PX today, I again eyeballed the Evening Primrose Oil, which is supposedly a home remedy to jumpstart labor. Had another friend suggest Raspberry Leaf Tea. I chickened out...too scary and I reckon there's a reason why he's staying put. Remind me of this when I'm pouring my misery forth here next Tuesday, OK?

Thus ends the ramblings of my brain as of today.

Your Mum and you are talking on the phone as I write this. So Annie is getting into 80s music? I'm thinking "Journey" still my favorite. And Annie Lennox, wasn't that the 80s? Waiting on pins and needles for Will to arrive.Take care.

Congratulations to Josiah for his perfect week! Please tell him how proud of him I am.

Are the fall colors wonderful in your area? Perhaps a little drive in the country would be fun. Just an idea.

Take care. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

My dad loves ELO! He and Annie could jam out when you all are back in the states. She is too cute.

Great job Joe on getting all "greens"!

That's a good idea...just drive around and enjoy the country roads. Stay off the autobahn! It seems like there were a lot of vineyards around Stuttgart too. A visit there too? Yes, and take care!

Boy, do *I* have some songs for Joe when you guys get back here! My Sansa's crammed full o' MP3s, and no, they're not all Sinatra or Harry Connick, Jr.

You have every right to be a little grumpy at this stage, Rachel! That was a hilarious post. Keep that sense of humor.

Yay for Hans selling his car. That was quick! Maybe you know someone in Minnesota that is looking to buy an 07 Jetta???

Good idea to comment here on the new blog, Linz! Um, remember yesterday when you said you were just gonna let Hans worry about this stuff? Okay...deep breath...exhale...now another deep breath...exhale. All the fretting won't make a particle of difference, and as Grandpa T. used to say, a hundred years from now, no one will know the difference. And yes, sweetie, you DO have your sense of humor, and we all love you for it!
