What I Forgot

I forgot the mention in the last post that I did manage to paint my own toenails on Saturday night...it took a lot of strange twisting and turning, a little grunting and a lot of periods of holding my breath while bending painfully over my belly....but dangit, I got 'er done. Hopefully I will be able to comfortably reach my own toes by the time I need another pedicure.

Also, I didn't mention that part of the reason I was upset about the cancelled pedicure was that I had a gift certificate, so it would have been FREE...oh yes, there is a cheapskate in me!

Oh, and apparently it was Grandparent's Day yesterday. I'm going to play the "we're out of country and not seeing constant Hallmark ads touting Grandparent's Day" card. I'm afraid that it's not one of those holidays that have made it to permanent status on the calendars that I buy, so I was just unaware of it until I (gulp) read Donna's blog. Sorry, grandparents...hope you had a great day and thank you for all you do!

Thank you, Rachel - and Josiah and Annika. I love the new pictures of you!

I'm wondering why Hans didn't paint your nails for you.

Here in the good old US of A I don't recall seeing any "Grandparents' Day" adds either. Your Mum and I had our fix of grandparenting over the weekend anyhow. I am not sure if I did your Mother's toenails but I do remember shaving her legs at times when it was tough to reach that far.

p.s. The pictures were great as usual. It is good to see Hans once in awhile too.

Dad, the first time I read your first comment, I read:

"I do remember shaving her legs at times when it was tough to reach that FUR".

Eeek!

Rachie...you crack me up!

Is your eyesight going too?
I have to agree with your Dad in that it is nice to see Hans in a few of the pictures.
