On the playground after open house

Patch Elementary Open House
Just a couple of pictures from the open house held at Josiah's school on Thursday. This is Josiah's kindergarten room and the woman holding the green piece of paper in the background behind Hans is Ms. Beckham, his teacher. After we toured his room, he showed us the gym and then took us behind the school to show off the playground.

So far, school seems to be going well. He has been excited to go every day, but he was happy to have Saturday and Sunday off. He has had art, music, gym and host nation and enjoyed all four classes. In fact, there doesn't seem to be anything that he isn't liking at this point. Recess and lunch also rate high on his list!
Not much else to report. Just living day by day, getting excited to meet Will and literally sitting on this ticking time bomb. These last weeks of waiting and watching are, for me anyway, the worst. I have another appointment tomorrow and will report back any interesting news. I had my first "late third trimester" meltdown yesterday that involved a few tears and cursing...basically I had had a pedicure planned for yesterday only to show up at the salon and find that it had closed that day. Without informing anyone who was unlucky enough to have an appointment. To say that I had been looking forward to a little pampering was an understatement. Yeah, I know...not THAT big of a deal, but for some reason, it just sent me over the edge and I came home and sat on the couch and bawled about not being able to get a pedicure and wanting to go hoooooommmmmeee! Wah! (Some of you may remember several of these type of fits while I was pregnant with Annie--of course, Japan was leagues worse than Japan!).
Anyway, I'm all better now. I bought a new bottle of nail polish and $15 worth of stupid parenting magazines that looked cool but had THE dumbest articles in them: "Fast Food Negates Positive Effects of Breastfeeding", "Never Leave Your Infant in the Gas Grill", "Does Your Toddler Need a Chiropractor?"...two of those three are real, live articles. Do yourselves a favor, stick with "Parents" magazine and leave the fancy-schmancy baby/pregnancy/parenting magazines on the rack.
OK, we're leaving for a little waddle up to the library...see you soon!
