Austria

Here are the pictures, as usual, served up scrambled:
Zell-Am-See

See, he really does SMILE for pictures every once and awhile!

At the salt mine (or rather, outside of it)

Hitler's dining room, now used as public restaurant

Hitler's fireplace (it's important to be warm and cozy while hatching evil plots)

The Eagle's Nest

And...back to Zell-Am-See

I'm pretty sure I want a trampoline...

Back to Eagle's Nest

Squirm with pride, Jan--I packed peanut butter sandwiches for the whole trip! Now I just need to start putting a wet washcloth in a baggie instead of buying Wet Ones, right?

At Eagle's Nest

Our hotel, Josiah and Hans standing on second floor balcony

I'm kind of a nerd for marching bands...the dirndls and lederhosen are just a bonus. This was on the street just outside of our hotel. They marched past and played on at least two occasions.

Holy cow, what beautiful pictures! I hardly recognized Hans, and you on the trampoline, it looks as if a good time was had except for the overtime mine trip.

Yes, the pix are beautiful. My favorite, however, is Hans and that great smile! Glad you guys had a great time...what a gorgeous world we have!

I also love these photos. I'm so glad you are taking advantage of going to these places that many of us only dream about. Did you attend the band concert?

I love the trampoline picture. Our neighbors up the road have one and they set up their sprinklers under it when it gets hot out and jump around in their swimsuits. Let's do that someday!! NOT.

Wow, that's some ghetto trampoline jumping, not to mention dangerous (hello, slippery trampoline!).

Maybe we'll get one of those trampolines with walls, so we can jump in private.

I will fully admit that I loved the trampoline almost as much as the kids...and it was a great aerobic exercise. I'm all for exercise that doesn't feel like work!

That cannot be Hans. I mean, he didn't do the whole Donald-Sutherland-Invasion-Of-The-Body-Snatchers thing and start shrieking at you after you took the picture, did he?

I kid, I kid! Mostly.

Just for the record, my niece adores her trampoline...as does her aunt (my sister). Some things you just don't outgrow.
