Pictures

Here they are, in random order. They look best when enlarged (just double-click on them for anyone who didn't already know).
Jesuitenkirche in Innsbruck and one little penitent entering the pew

The Goldenes Dachl (from DK's Austria: The symbol of Innsbruck, the Golden Roof is an oriel window added in 1500 by Maximilian I to Friedrich IV's former residence. It is covered with 2,657 gilded copper rooftiles.) Just in case anyone was curious.

Zugspitze from our uber-room

Tulips! Tulips! Donna, control yourself :)

So you can get an idea of how excellently excellent Innsbruck might have been on a clear day.

Possibly the prettiest McDonald's I have ever entered, and Hans, J & A crossing the street.

My new favorite photo--someone computer-y tell me how to make this my masthead! All of the shop windows in Innsbruck had beautiful displays, many featuring Easter scenes.

Just arrived at Edelweiss--freedom from the carseat!

A view from the courtyard at Edelweiss

Annie with the Zugspitze in the background

And...we're back to Innsbruck and aforementioned shop window. Someone get Donna a paper bag, OK?

Innsbruck street scene

PS: Donna, I'm mostly kidding about the paper bag, though I know you would Love (with a capital L) Innsbruck. Definitely your cup of tea!

LOL! If you're really worried about her safety, please avoid any pictures involving the many stages of bacon.

That's SO weird because I was just looking at a cooking website whose author had attempted to make little salad baskets out of braided bacon. She called them "bacontainers". Actually, they looked pretty dang good!

But seriously, bacon?

I LOVE all of your new pictures, Rachel!! Yes, you have me pegged! The tulips, candy, and figurines. The only thing you missed are the dishes. :-)

Mostly I love seeing the darlings. Is Annika as tall as Josiah? They are both adorable. I miss all of you so much! Can't wait to see you in about two months.

Oh, Peder teases me about the bacon because I took photos of our host cooking bacon while we were in Scotland.

Holy Cow!! I can see now why people want to tour Europe. riding through the countryside on a bike would be fabulous, unless the weather was funky. One thing that we have here is the canyon lands out west, otherwise it looks as if our mountains are kind of pathetic. Take care, love ya'll.

WOW! Your trip looks amazing! The picture of Annika is great! I am glad you guys are getting out.
Rachel, The pictures of so neat. I remember all of that stuff. My friend Carol and I spent at least an hour in that huge beautiful church. And the stores were all very beautiful. I purchased the table cloth that Donna has on her coffee table in the living room most of the time in Innsbruck. I hope you get a chance to drive to Kitzbuhl. they have cable cars that you can go to the top and a very nice restaurant up there. It is a really unique village.
Thanks for the pictures and the narration. You are a wonderful writer.
