Enoshima Aquarium
Surprised at how well these turned out, sans flash...
Giant central tank full of fish, rays, sharks, eels, etc.
It's me!
Japanese spider crabs. OH MY GOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDD. Hans just told me they live pretty deep down, like 500', so chances are I will never actually encounter one, but I'm not going to take any chances. I will be staying out of the ocean whilst in Japan. Two of my least favorite things: crustaceans and spiders, combined. It doesn't get freakier than this, people! Shudder.
Annika with the jellyfish. So beautiful, yet so poisonous and sting-y. The jellyfish, I mean. I wish I could have a room just like this with a couch and a Keurig.
Again, a little blurry because of the no-flash policy. Octopus in his garden. In the shade. Great, now I'm singing.
Surrounded by schoolchildren again...I just read an article about the Japanese and their declining birthrate, but if you go to any quasi-educational location during the school week, it's a bit hard to believe. And damn, they are NOISY! It's a relief after Germany.
Sagami Bay
Funny how well they get along with each other without the third wheel (aka William) along...and Hans and I were able to putz along looking at our leisure because we didn't have to worry about the 4-year-old running off.
Waiting for the dolphin/seal show to begin. Splash zone seats!
We didn't understand a word the trainers said, but nodding and smiling goes a long way.
A False Killer Whale--for real, that's what it's called. Poser.
The best part of the show was the FKW doing flips.
