A Second Opinion

Well, it's now Thursday and not only has this illness not left me, it's gotten worse. I can definitely tell when my aspirin is reaching the end of its effectiveness.

Last night I had a strange episode of pains that reminded me of the withdrawal I went through getting off Percoset after breaking my arm. Chills and shakes and strange tremors.

Yesterday I had a few bouts of nausea and today I feel a little queasy again. I can't stand the thought of eating anything of any solidity. Sweet things sound the best. Ice cream, canned peaches, yogurt. Soda crackers and orange juice by the gallon.

Today I am having strange aches and pangs in my joints, like someone is hitting me with a sharp little axe in random places. Sometimes my ankles, sometimes my back, sometimes my hands. The fever continues to burn on.

Hans is coming home in about an hour to spell me so I can go to the doctor. It's time. Four days is long enough. The kids and I haven't been out of the house since Gamerdinger on Monday. We've watched every Disney movie we own, and the amount of fruit and vegetables being consumed by the under-4 set is woefully lacking.

Being sick alone sucks, but being sick with two little children is worse. Josiah keeps asking me "Do you feel a little better?". He's being a much better helper today.

I'll let you know what the doctor says.

Goog grief, it sounds as if you have picked up some strange tropical disease. Probably not, it is more than likely some version of the flu. I would have to second Donnas' letter. I hope that the doctor has some potion to help you feel better. It is a good thing that Joe is stepping up to the plate, so to speak. Love to all.
