Is Vacation Over Yet?

Annika just said "Our stuff is not here yet, it's coming on the Atlantic Ocean...".

I'm just wondering if vacation is over yet. That is what the last eight days have felt like, though we haven't gone to Busch Gardens or Colonial Williamsburg or even the aquarium. We haven't had ice cream once, even though there's a Dairy Queen down the road (yeah, I don't know what my holdup is on that one). We haven't gone to the beach and walked hand in hand along the shore while the kids splash in the waves...we haven't bought cheesy souvenirs, we haven't taken very many pictures. If it was a vacation, we would have done all of this and more, but it's not, right?

I think I'm in a state of denial. I keep thinking that we'll be headed back to Stuttgart in about a week. I'm pretty sure that it hasn't hit me 100% that we are not going back. Possibly ever. Whenever I think of life going on without us there, I start needing my paper bag. I know that it's just going to take some time to get used to being in Virginia and used to life here...this has been true of every move. It's a major life change and we go through it every couple of years.

I still haven't really cried yet and I know it's coming...I'm waiting. I'm ready to get it on, tears. Anytime you're ready, you just let me know because I would like to have my sniffle and get it over with.

Maybe I'll believe we're in Norfolk for good when we move into the house on the 1st...
