At Last
At last the great 2009 car sale has reached completion...the buyer's check cleared today, my check was cut today and she and I made it over to the vehicle registration office and got all the necessary documents changed and signed.
Wheeeeeeeewwwwwwww. Deep sigh of relief! I am so glad to finally have that over and I truly hope never to have to sell a vehicle myself again.
Both Josiah and Annika went to the CDC today. That's the Child Development Center, not the Center for Disease Control...I still think of Mankato's bout with Legionaire's Disease circa 1995-ish whenever I take the kids over to daycare. That was a dramatic time, though, dealing with that Legionaire's Disease...the company I worked for at the time was heavily involved in the situation and I remember having to go up to the armory for a shot, or maybe it was pills. Whatever it was, it made my pee bright orange.
Wow, that's a digression if I ever saw one. Anyway...Annika could hardly wait to go to "school" like Josiah. I barely had her out of her coat and she was sitting down with the other kids for story. I'm glad that she doesn't have anxiety about being apart from me, but it would be nice if she felt a little sad for just a moment. Sniff. When I went to pick her up, her teachers said she had a great day and even took a little nap. She's going back on Friday and I've already booked her to go concurrently with Josiah's preschool next week.
Talked to Hans a couple of times now, both over the phone and via e-mail and instant messaging. I wish that the camera worked better, but I think the connection on his end has low bandwidth. He says he can hear me just fine, but the picture freezes up a lot. And it's hard to use the camera because the kids just get so overexcited to see themselves on the screen that they make it nearly impossible to have a decent conversation.
Last but not least, I want to wish my brother and my brother-in-law very Happy Birthdays today. Love you both!!

I count my blessings that Relia is happy to be at daycare. I'll bet Annika was plenty happy to see you when you picked her up though.
I'm glad you have the CDC for the kids and that you get a little break now and then. Tell Annika I'm proud of her, please.
I'm glad you and Hans have been able to hear each other's voices. How reassuring that is for all of us here. You're all in my prayers.
