Wonderment

Here are Josiah and Annika, admiring our German Christmas pyramid over the weekend. We got out our Christmas tree and ornaments. I love getting our ornaments out because I try to buy one from every duty station each year, so taking them each out brings back a lot of memories. I have a few ornaments from my years as a single girl too: the Waterford crystal angel from my trip to Ireland, for example.

It was rather a long day today as we had a series of doctor's appointments, a trip to the pharmacy, which is never quick and easy, and a trip to Hans' office. We had news that our car is on the way to the port at Bremerhaven and so should be here soon. Even though they are built in Turkey, the vehicles have to officially enter Germany at a port. I know, doesn't make much sense to me, either. Anyway--Hans is gone, so I have to quick take care of some last paperwork and get the loan in place if it does show up. I should know more tomorrow...maybe our next pictures will be our new red Christmas present.

By the way, I didn't know that one could hold down the flash on the camera...I'm still learning new things from my Dad. I like the effect.

I thought that the new car was being built in Hungary. The no flash thing does produce a nice sepia sort of look. I learned it from your brother when we were in Rapid City last summer. Take care.

Pete, you're right. It's made in Hungary. Hopefully it will be here soon.

Rachel, you have some beautiful kids.

Hungary? Hungary for some Turkey? Can't you see how I would have made that mistake.

It's one of those countries (pointing to the east-ish) over thataway.

I forgot to mention that Hans bought that pyramid last year, right after we got here and surprised it with us. It was really a sweet gesture...so I think of that whenever I get the pyramid out.

I mean, surprised US with IT. I'm sleep-deprived.

I love both pictures! Yes, Hans and Rachel, your kids are beautiful! I've always said, "They're angels." This proves it.

What nice memories you are making for all of you.
We had a pyramid like that and it caught on fire with the German Christmas table cloth...Mark was sitting right there too and didn't notice the flames. This happened in Hanau. Girl, our camera has a flash button, don't need to hold it down, press the flass button on the side for the camera to not flash, and there is a dark/night setting too. I still have a lot to learn about the camera. So I am catching up on your blog while Mark is putting the boys down.
