Hans' New Anakin's Jedi Starfighter Figurine

Hans has suggested that I blog about his new Star Wars figurine. Apparently, he thinks I have nothing better to blog about.

So, here goes. Hans has been collecting these little titanium Star Wars figurines since we came back home. Oh wait, I'm supposed to call them "aspiration figures".

Most of them are from Target or Wal-Mart and cost about $10 each. Not so bad. Except that I love it when he "hides" about three of them under the REAL things we buy at Target (and everything I buy at Target is absolutely essential) and I only see them AS the checkout person is swiping them. Grrrr. Or better yet, he secretly gets them and goes through the checkout line on his own.

Some of them are from eBay. These are more costly, because they are....rarer. He wants everyone to know that Anakin's Jedi Starfighter is special because it was only sold at Wal-Mart and was on sale while we were in Japan (where there are no Wal-Marts), so he had to pay over $20 for it on eBay. There was some fierce competition with one other nerd that fights Hans for these super-rare "aspiration figures". When Hans discovered that the one other nerd who wanted the figure had bid against him (again), there was much swearing and carrying on in the De For household.

Sitting here at the desk that we regrettably have to share, I can't help but notice how dusty Hans' large collection of Star Wars Legos and aspiration figures are becoming. That's because I hate having to dust under them. As soon as I pick one up, some gun or radar falls off and then I start sweating, knowing that the instant he walks through the door, the Force will tell him that something is amiss. And he will instantly spot the problem and proceed to give me a big lecture about how this laser gun goes here or on the B-Wings (ack, I know names, I know) of the Federation vintage, the guns were under the....blah, blah, blah...on and on and on, while my eyes glaze over. I've learned very quickly not to ask Hans any questions about Star Wars. I really don't want the answers.

And I'm not even going to go into the fact that it unnerves me to sit here with all these things...staring at me....guns pointed at me. Thank God the Lego AT-AT is in storage. I hate that thing, it creeps me out!

Here you go Babe, you thought I was kidding when I took you up on your suggestion that I blog about your new Anakin's Jedi Starfighter.

All in all, I consider myself fairly lucky in that Hans manages to control himself somewhat in the realm of Star Wars collectibles. I mean, I think he would say "NO" to a set of plates depicting scenes from Star Wars by the Franklin Mint as offered in the middle of Parade magazine on Sunday.

I think. Honey?

My next blog may be from outside on the street corner, surrounded by my suitcases. Just me and the starfish...

There is no Federation in Star Wars, baby. Dork.

You're just jealous.

See what I mean? I'm sure that I'm going to have to endure a "history" lesson tonight.

This is why I have the third floor. It lets me insulate Sarah from any similar madness. And you could just have Hans dust his own toys...

Yeah, like I actually dust.

So Hans likes to play with dolls, huh? :o)

Well...there is the dark and scary, cobwebby basement...there are no squirrels in it, but a normal person can't fully stand up in it. There are a lot of shelves down there...they'd just need a little dusting and possibly a bit of sanding. They're probably circa 1900. Sarah, Hans has not ventured into doll territory, except for the little Lego people that come with the sets. These are all ships and other Star Wars vehicles. I'll have to take a picture.

Rachel........
If he would start collecting "Little House on the Prairie " action figures then I would get really anxious if I were you. How about " Lord of the Rings" though?

You guys are hilarious! And might I say, Hans, that you look very dashing with your aspiration figurine or whatever. I agree with Peder...Hans really should dust his aspiration figurines. It will take some of the stress off of you, Rach. May the force be with all of you DeFors!
