Cookie Deorating

I have to say it:  I think I nailed the whole sugar cookie thing this year!  My ultimate proof is that we made them on Monday and today they are ALL gone, all three dozen of them.  I'm not going to lie.  I ate at least half of them.  I really wish the holidays didn't coincide with PMS (apologies to my male readers)...since I feel like eating everything I lay eyes on!!

Anyway, enough about my PMS, which could comprise several posts of its own (I should give it a name).  How about some pictures of my children and Hans (!) decorating cookies?

I'm happy to oblige:

Christmas Tree 2012

Preparing to frost--Josiah still remembers the year(s) I made them take off their shirts for this activity!

SO excited to get Daddy to come home a little early on Monday and frost with us!

There was plenty of sampling while we decorated, and we did end up giving quite a few of them away to friends and neighbors, so maybe my estimate of having consumed half is a little off.  But I definitely had a dozen.  Definitely.  I just went in and ate the last one...

How fun! The whole family got to decorate the cookies. Rachel, these look delicious! No wonder they're alreay eaten.

I love your tree! Everything looks so festive. Merry Christmas!

I did see a lot of sampling going on, but the frosting of the cookies looked like a lot of fun. Where do you find cookie cutters in this day and age? I wish that we could have been observers.

Dad, I found the cookie cutters just by chance while Annika and I were picking up the last ingredients at Farm Fresh last Sunday. There are about 10 different ones, from Santa, angels, stockings to stars, snowmen and trees. I was surprised to find them too!

Huh...is it me or is Hans getting to resemble Peder more and more in the "distinguished" department?

Must be the strains of command... ;]

Incidentally, I *love* baking Christmas cookies (and eating them), especially pepperkakor and pfeffernusse!

Great pictures. Making memories. 20 years from now you will look at these and say awwww... And it will warm your heart. Warning: it may even bring tears to your eyes.

Pat, I will keep that in mind and only wear waterproof mascara in 20 years.

; )
It looks like all enjoyed the decorating. That makes it fun.
I'm excited to see all of you in a week.
Merry Christmas, De For's
