Now Uterus Free!
The vet just called. Elsa has survived her spaying. Not that we didn't expect her too...this isn't the dark ages of veterinary care. There's no more use of leeches, for example. Seriously, though, when I got Freddie spayed it was a major operation including stitches and the Cone of Shame.
Annika was actually looking forward to seeing the Cone of Shame.
Anyway, I think they do spays laproscopically (I think I spelled that currectle) now, just a small incision, lase the offending thing up and drag it out the incision. Gently, I'm sure.
Elsa was also microchipped so she can run faster and learn Greek and complex calculus. She had a small hernia in her stomach fixed, though we thought it looked cute, like a belly button. The vet explained to us that it would be dangerous to leave untreated. OK, fine. Spoil all our fun, Mr. Vet. We enjoyed tickling her "belly button" until you told us it was actually a tiny wad of her stomach. Ewww.

I am not ashamed to admit that I love Pandora on my iPhone. I was probably the last person in the U.S. to get the Pandora app. Way to be on top of things Rach. Anyway, I can enter in the name of any singer or group and my new friend Pandora will play songs by that artist and also artists that sound a lot alike.
For instance, Celine Dion...yes, that's right, I listen to Celine Dion. Come a little closer while you laugh at me! So Pandy gives me Celine and some other nice "belters" like Whitney and Mariah. Okay, I'm cringing a little, giving out that information. I've been singing...a lot. The neighbors are probably wondering if we got a cat over here!
I (heart) Pandora.
Josiah is on a fieldtrip today. They had pictures yesterday...again. I wish I knew why they have pictures twice a year...they're so darn expensive and I always feel like I have to buy them. So far as I know, the pictures went well. Everyone dressed nicely and was ordered not to be goofy in front of the camera. We will get the results soon. I'd better sell a kidney.
William has discovered how to unlock and open doors. Well, he had the "open doors" part down, but I was not aware that he could unlock doors until yesterday when I thought he was playing and the doorbell rang. Probably one of my neighbors coming to complain about our new cat...I thought. But no, it was William, who was outside playing on the front porch. It still makes my heart sieze up a little bit in fear.
Not to worry, we simply moved the toddler doorknob plastic deterrent things off the closet doors and onto the exterior doors. Now he has free access to all of our medications and the Drano!
Must keep one step ahead at all times!
