Days of Water

A few shots from week before last, when the temps were still high and it wasn't raining. It rained every day last week, yesterday was gorgeous and cool and today it's back to rain. The first two pictures of Will are using the Hipstamatic app for my iPhone, an app I have been hearing about like crazy, but kept forgetting to try...I love the way the pictures turn out looking like something from an old photo album. Anyway--the pictures of the kids playing at the water table are on our back patio and I included one partial shot of our backyard (one of these days I'm going to get a wide-angle lens, I've been meaning to since Jodi saw us in February!).
What else is new? Not a whole lot. Life is busy and full. I opened the last box last week and so I consider "the move" to be 98% complete. Our new couch is being delivered on the 12th and we'll finally be able to have all the furniture in its proper spot. I've been waiting to hang some larger pictures until the couch is in place. We're trying to get curtains up--Dad, we may need some help hanging some curtain rods when you get into town...
School is going well for Josiah. Hans dragged him to a Cub Scout meeting last week, just an introductory sort of thing. Josiah was dead set against going, but we're "forcing" him to try a couple of meetings to see if anything sparks an interest. Josiah claims he has too many projects going on at home and that he would rather learn to play guitar. So I guess we'll be exploring that route as well. Hans and I feel that he needs to have an extracurricular activity: karate, Cub Scouts, music lessons--something like that.
Annika is going to story time and gymnastics. Hans put the piano together the other night and secretly filmed her composing and singing her own little songs...she cracks me up. I have to figure out how to post iPhone videos. William is getting ready to be a year old, walking everywhere and climbing on everything--this is my first climbing baby. We left the ladder out and found him up on the first rung and about to climb up to the second. He has climbed up our Japanese tansu a couple of times. Josiah and Annika just weren't climbers. I never had to worry about them putting things in their mouths, climbing or exploring electrical outlets--all things that Will seems to relish. I guess he's my little daredevil. Sigh. I'd better get some advice from my brother on how to handle daredevil babies-of-the-family! ; )
It's raining again. Oh well, we had one nice day in there!
