The Gap
No, this blog post isn't an ode to my (second) favorite store ever! It's about Josiah, who lost his first tooth this morning while eating his breakfast. Eating a banana, to be precise, so I think that this tooth was more than ready to come out! Behold, Josiah and his new gap...
Now to remember to e-mail the Tooth Fairy to come tonight!
The move went so smoothly that I almost can't believe the lack of stress. I expect that the stress is waiting for me, somewhere, ready to pounce. It will come when I least expect it. OR maybe, just maybe, this move will be completely stress free and simple. Maybe.
Our movers were very nice, personable and sweet smelling Turkish guys who didn't sit on our furniture and smoke or try to cram delicate objects into the wrong-sized box. They packed our dressers with the clothes in them, our DVD towers with the DVDs in them. I don't think that American movers are allowed to do that, but to me, it makes a lot of sense. We get there, unwrap the dresser and everything is as we left it, instead of unpacking an additional two or three boxes full of socks, underwear and sweaters.
We have our temporary furniture in, and while not beautiful, it does the trick and will allow us to stay in our apartment until two nights before we fly out. Our kitchen is still intact. We all have beds--Hans and I have a double bed which may turn out to be interesting. We were too tired last night to care much about the lack of space. For two people who have tossed around the idea of getting a king-sized bed, a double isn't much space. We have a couch and some easy chairs, a bunch of tables and nightstands and a dining room set. We decided to keep Will's crib instead of making him sleep in the pack-and-play. It's just easier for everyone and Marguerite said she'd take Will's crib when I go (we have a crib in storage).
So...a major portion of this move is over and now we just have to focus on enjoying this last month (because it's a month from TODAY!). In that line of thinking, Annika and I, together with Marguerite and her family, are going for an overnight in Salzburg on Saturday. Yes, that right: we are doing the Sound of Music tour! I'm so excited, not only to travel again and do the tour and sing my heart out, but to get to spend that time with our fantastic friends!
OK, that is all for now. Pictures from Salzburg on Sunday or Monday!
