Homeowners No More!

We sold our house on Sunday!

I can't believe how quickly it moved...well, after our tenants moved out. We had had it on the market for a little while, but found out that our tenants weren't being, well, exactly accomodating to showings and such. They were kind enough to break their lease and move out early, though, so I'm not going to badmouth them. They left the house in good shape and didn't cause us any problems.

Anyway, the tenants left on March 31st, we had an open house this past Saturday, and our realtor called on Sunday with the good news. We had gotten a couple of offers, but they were just way too low, almost insultingly so...the new buyers made us a very fair offer and we jumped at it. Thank goodness we don't have to worry about the house anymore and can focus on buying a home at our next duty station.

Where that is, is anyone's guess. We don't know and won't know until probably some time this summer. Emphasis on the probably, as sometimes the Navy takes its sweet time.

Anyway. We had a great Easter as a result of this. Easter used to be a big holiday when I was growing up, complete with coloring eggs, hiding and finding eggs, a big Easter basket stuffed with goodies, and a big ham dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. But we're kind of slackers in this household. We did get dye and I boiled 18 eggs on Saturday. On Saturday night I spread a thick layer of newspaper on the kitchen table and let Josiah go at it. He did pretty good, but he's still learning that he can't throw eggs around. He cracked a few of them! Sissy watched from her highchair...maybe next year. Hans and I hid plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and M&Ms all over the first floor and on Easter morning, Josiah went around and found all of them.

That was about it. We didn't go to church as we had gone to church on Palm Sunday and were still reeling from that experience. Annika went into the nursery and cried nonstop the entire time (according to the nursery ladies). Josiah first wanted to go into the nursery, then he wanted to go into the church with us, back and forth, back and forth. He ended up in the church with us, where he refused to sit still and be quiet. So, we didn't get to enjoy too much of the service. I feel good if we've managed to go once or twice a month...otherwise, I think we'll wait to get into Sunday school and regular services until they are a little bit older.

I didn't even make a ham dinner. It just never crossed my mind. Maybe next year. I hope everyone else had a good Easter Sunday...!

It sounds like Easter was just fine! Did you have your tacos? That sounds SO good! We're having snow here with possible accumulations of 11 inches! Happy Spring! Hope Joe's doing good on the throne...
Love you guys!

Yaaay! I was just wondering aloud to Peder what had happened with your house. Sounds like a great low-key Easter too.

Good deal,I'm glad to hear about the house in Chula Vista getting off of your minds. Good luck with the kids in church problem. If you get it figured out, write a book as I am sure that lots of other parents would like to know the secret. Take care and we will see you in about a month.
