Where's My Stein?

I'll give you all three guesses who has generously loaned me some dirndls...
Now come on, who else would have such a thing in her closet? That's right, it's my MIL, Donna. I haven't tried the cream colored one yet, but the blue one fits me just right. I couldn't drink too much beer or eat too much bratwurst because there's not too much room for error. I might burst one of those pretty buttons!
I showed it to Jen, who says that I look "Very German". To which I responded, well I am German after all. She says that folks around here wear their dirndls at Christmas and Easter, and by "folks around here" I mean people on base.
So if we don't make it to Munich for Octoberfest, I'll wear it at Christmas.
Thanks Donna!

Beautiful Rachel. Hey, I always wear mine on Easter and Christmas. In Southern Germany it is tradition to wear them to fests, some to church services and usually always for Easter and Christmas. Thanks for coming down to show me. You were fast to blog.
What shinny floors you have! LOL

Rachel, it looks lovely on you! I'm so happy it fits. Just think, I USED to be thin!!!

I'm sure the cream-color one will look beautiful as well.

Glad Hans made it home safely. It was great to see him again.

Are you sure I didn't buy snuff from you at Gasthof's when I went to Oktoberfest in 2000? ;]

Wow, yet again my image of Andrew must be rearranged in my brain! I can see you imbibing, but snorting snuff? How was it?

I went to Gasthof's once with an ex a looooooonnnngg time ago and remember the enormous boots of beer and of course, the snuff going around.

Jen--I know, I take time to lay down a fresh coat of polyurethane on my skanky military-housing wood floor every day! It takes half the day to dry, that's why you never see us leaving the house until about 2:30 p.m.

Oooooh, so shiny! ;)

You have shiny floors? You must be taking after your mother. Another great picture all you need is a beer stein in one hand. I think that you would fit right in as long as you didn't speak english. Whatever, it looks good on you.

I sneezed brown for three days, and I still have the eight (count 'em, eight) beer glasses I won that night.

I only remember drinking five, though. That and the old guy dressed up like Otto von Bismarck.
